USAT LIBERTY

For certified freedivers

Description

USAT Liberty was a United States Army cargo ship torpedoed by Japanese submarine in January 1942

Considered to be one of the best wreck dives in the world and accessible by all. The wreck lies around 30 metres from shore and is very well preserved. Our freediving Instructor will guide you from as shallow as 3 metres whilst the deepest part of the wreck sits at around 30 metres. Estimated that some 400 species of reef fish live on the wreck and perhaps 100 species of pelagic will visit it. One can dive the Liberty multiple times and never have the same dive twice! There is just so much to see and to explore! Highlights include the ‘pillar room’ where swim throughs for the intermediate level freedivers and overhangs provide freedivers with a unique diving experience.
